Each system requires a minimum allocation, and some require particular brokerage permissions. Here's the full picture.
Minimums
System | Minimum | Requires |
Cash Reserve | $1,000 | Any connected account |
Wheel Paycheck | $5,000 | Options approval at your brokerage |
Futures Paycheck | $8,000 | TastyTrade, with futures and options approval |
Why the minimums exist
They're not arbitrary. Each reflects what the strategy needs to function.
Wheel Paycheck sells cash-secured puts, which requires enough buying power to take delivery of 100 shares. Below $5,000 there are too few symbols it could trade at all. Futures Paycheck trades /ES, where margin requirements set the floor. Cash Reserve simply needs enough to make an ETF purchase worthwhile.
Deploying at the minimum works, but more capital gives a system more room to diversify and manage positions.
Brokerage requirements
Cash Reserve runs on any connected account. It places ordinary stock orders only.
Wheel Paycheck runs on TastyTrade or any supported SnapTrade brokerage, provided the account is approved for options trading. That approval comes from your brokerage, not from us — you'll need permission to sell cash-secured puts and covered calls. Request it in your brokerage's account settings if you don't have it.
Futures Paycheck requires TastyTrade. No other brokerage supports futures options. Your TastyTrade account also needs futures and options approval, requested from TastyTrade directly.
The suggested allocation
We propose roughly 30% of your account value, rounded to the nearest $100, never below the minimum. It's a starting point, not advice for your circumstances.
The ceiling
Your allocation cannot exceed the account's total value.
Note the gap this leaves: if you run several systems on one account, each is checked against the account value individually, not against what your other systems have already claimed. Two systems can each be allocated the full account value. Keep your own running total — the app won't catch it.
Cash Reserve is the exception. It deliberately subtracts other active systems' allocations before calculating its own target, so it won't compete for the same capital.
One deployment per account
A system can only run once on a given brokerage account. To run the same system twice, connect a second account.
If your account is below the minimum
During setup you'll be offered a skip option so you can continue and deploy later. Fund your brokerage account, then return to the Systems page.
Changing your allocation later
Allocation is editable from each system's settings. Increasing it gives the system more capital on its next cycle. Decreasing it doesn't close positions already open — those run their course under the rules they were opened with.
