Using the Kill Switch

Profile Security Controls Kill Switch for emergencies. Prefer pausing or disconnecting individual systems or brokers day to day.

Written by Austin Bouley

Kill Switch lives under Profile → Security Controls (your account only). There are three separate buttons. Each one requires your password, then a second confirmation where you click Continue.

Use individual controls first

Kill Switch is there for control and safety in an emergency. It is not recommended for day-to-day management.

Prefer pausing or disconnecting individual systems or brokers:

  • Turn off System Enabled on one system's settings page when you only need that system to stop opening new trades.

  • Disconnect a single brokerage from the Brokers page when you only need that connection removed.

Use Kill Switch when you need every system paused, every broker disconnected, or every SOB-tracked open trade queued to close in one step.

Kill Switch (Income Systems)

What it does: Pauses every active income system at once. Each system is set to paused and its System Enabled setting is turned off.

What it does not do: It does not close positions at your brokerage, disconnect brokers, or delete trade history.

Afterward: Re-enable systems one by one from each system's settings (turn System Enabled back on and save).

This is the all-systems version of turning off a single system's enabled toggle.

Kill Switch (Brokers)

What it does: Disconnects every connected brokerage account.

What it does not do: It does not close positions by itself. Your income systems and trade history stay in Self Operating Brokerage.

Afterward: Reconnect brokers from the Brokers page when you are ready.

Kill Switch (Open Trades)

This is the red / danger button. Its Continue confirmation is also marked as danger.

What it does: Queues close orders for every open trade Self Operating Brokerage is currently tracking (open or closing, not yet closed). Those closes are sent to your brokerage. You will see a success message that closes were queued (not that every fill is already done).

What it does not do: It does not pause income systems. It does not disconnect brokers. It cannot close positions that SOB is not tracking as held open trades. Closes are not instant; they run through a queue and your broker may reject or delay an order.

Cannot be undone once you confirm. Check your brokerage for fills if something still looks open.

How they differ

  • Income Systems — pauses all active systems so they stop opening new positions. Does not flatten your brokerage.

  • Brokers — disconnects every connected brokerage. Does not flatten positions.

  • Open Trades — queues broker close orders for SOB-tracked open trades.

If Income Systems and Open Trades feel similar: they are not. One pauses automation. The other sends close orders for tracked opens.

Vs pausing one system

On a system's settings page, the System Enabled toggle pauses or restarts that one system. Kill Switch (Income Systems) pauses all active systems in one step. See Changing your system settings for the per-system toggle.
